Last Monday saw a good turn out of members at Beith Trinity Mens Fellowship for a games night. After a word of welcome from president John McGibbon a keenly contested night of bowls got underway.

Greenhills Rural held their December meeting in Barrmill Community Centre when president Mrs Barbara Raeside presided.

One of Beith and districts best known characters, James T F Muir of Barrmill, has been ill of recent times.

Barrmill Jolly Beggars held their 59th annual St. Andrews Dinner last Friday evening in Beith Bowling Club when 57 members and visitors enjoyed a first class meal provided by Sandra’s Catering Service of Beith.

On Thursday 27th November the speaker at Beith Historical Society was well known Beithite, Anne McCorquodale, who took as her subject Doulton Figures.

Meetings of all sections of 1st Beith BBs will be back to normal this Friday, with all sections meeting in the BB hall at the usual time.

Last Tuesday Beith’s world champion baker, Maurice Irvine, travelled to the fair city of Perth with his father and mentor, Tom ‘Pie’ Irvine, where they attended the fifth Anual World Pie Championship luncheon at the Huntingtower Hotel.

Phew, did you make to the parade last Friday? Tiring, but brilliant, eh! For the second year running the weather was exceptionally kind courtesy of special arrangements made via Rev Fiona Ross, Father John Kinsler and Pastor Bill Shirlaw! Well, that’s there story anyway!

Beith and District Community Council are delighted to announce that the town of Beith not only reached the final eighteen communities in Scotland in the Calor Scottish Community of the Year Awards, but was successful in gaining four awards.

Beith & District Young Farmers’ Club held a parent and child evening on Monday 10th November. Each parent and child taking part were quizzed on each other just to see how well they knew one another.

Members of Beith St Inan’s Angling Club are reminded that the club AGM will not be held this Friday, 12th December.

Beith and District Community Council meet in Beith Primary School last Thursday. There was great pride and satisfaction in Beith winning four awards.
