Robert F Clark, club president, writes: On the first Wednesday of June the Gold and Silver Bowl takes place all over Ayrshire. The game, traditional for many years, is the coastal clubs against the inland clubs. This year it was the coastal clubs turn to play at home. The very welcome inland clubs visiting Beith were Hurlford Bowling Club and Springhill Bowling Club from Kilmarnock.

After the usual welcome ceremony a game of 21 ends took place. Hurlford beat the Vice President’s rink by one shot and The Beith President's rink beat Springhill by one shot.
Both visiting clubs thanked Beith Bowling Club for their hospitality, the ladies for the meal they prepared, the bar staff and the greenkeeper for their roles in making it a memorable day. All visitors agreed that Beith is the best green they have played on so far, to top marks to the on-the-ball Beith greenkeepers.

President Robert F Clark welcomed a good turnout of local members for the Friday evening Wapinschaw. The delighted winners were Andy Dick (lead) Phil Shanaghey(second) and Jim McFadzean (skip).
