Golf Club : Ower the Dyke

Stuart Wright, match secretary, writes: Beith Golf Club held their popular “Ower the Dyke” three man team competition over the Bigholm course on May 29 when there was an excellent turnout of competitors enjoying the good weather and trying to stay on the course.

The first three happy teams who managed to avoid going over the dyke and out of bounds were: 1stJim Ward, Gordon McCrea and John Hewitson; 2nd Jack Torrens, Neil Torrens, and Ronnie Mathieson and 3rd Derek Shanks, Ian Johnstone, and Peter McCallum.

Meanwhile, the monthly medal was played over the Bigholm course by an eager group of Beith golfers on Saturday June 5 in good weather conditions, making it a very close encounter. 1st was Fraser Robin 64 BIH, 2nd Andrew Woods 64 BIH, 3rd Ronnie Mathieson 64 and the overall medal final winner was Brian Gillan 70 BIH.
