Karen McClune, secretary, writes: All roads lead to Beith this Saturday! The St Inan’s Festival is on Saturday June 12 in the grounds of Beith Primary School from 1.00 pm to 4.30pm with the official crowning of the Queen taking place at 1.15pm. The royal party, who are looking forward to their special day are: Lewis Logan (page boy), Shannon Fleetham (flower girl), Nicole Brown (attendant) and Sarah McClune (Queen). Congratulations to all the royal party and everyone will join in wishing them a really wonderful and memorable day.
The parade will be leaving Beith Community Centre at 12.30 pm, leading the parade will be Neilston Pipe band followed by the Royal Party on Horse and Carriage, various fancy dressers with the circus theme and various decorated floats donated from local businesses including Beith Transport Museum, WH Malcolm, Austin Champ, Richard Healey Removal Telephone Float, Beith Fire Service and lots more.
The route of the parade is leaving Beith Community Centre at 12.30 pm, then onto Wilson Street, Relief Road, Main Street, Strand, Eglinton Street, Glebe road, Barrmill road, then into Beith Primary School.
All floats will be disembarking on Glebe Road, for everyone to be able to walk into the school grounds, where the fun will begin. The Queen will be crowned and the fete declared open at 1.15pm by John Boal, Director of WH Malcolm Group, Linwood, and president of Beith Juniors Football Club.
Judging will take place for the best decorated float, fancy dress with the circus theme in mind, best dressed window in the town. There are various stalls from home baking, bottle stalls, Jewellery fun fair and lots more, various dancing displays and beith harriers’ fun races throught out the day. Please come along and support your town’s St Inan’s Fete 2010.
