Beith Primary School held their annual prize giving ceremony on the last week of school under the chairmanship of headmaster, Tom Mabon. He began by thanking all the pupils and staff for their dedication during the past session and thanked the parents for their ongoing support making special mention of the Parents Association and School Board.
He said he hoped that everyone would enjoy a refreshing summer holiday and return suitably invigorated for the new term. He also made mention of those young people moving on to secondary education and he wished them great success.
The event began with the choir singing, All that I am; The Sair Finger was recited by Adele Griffiths (P1); the school wind band played Banana Boat and Hot Cross Buns; Caitlin Turner, Young Musician of the Year sang, Are They Gone Now and No Dice; Connor McCarthy sang, Somewhere Over the Rainbow; Heather McDonald sang, Mary Had a Little Lamb; Peter Degan sang, Ode to Joy and Auld Lang Syne; Ross Anderson and Russell Boyd sang, Aura Lee and Campdown Races and the closing song by the choir conducted by Mrs Mary Watson was No One Like You..
