Work Day
The Barrmill Communities Project Initiative (BCPI) group have met again and have set a date for the first workday – Saturday, 23RD October from 11am to 3pm in the Barrmill Park. The group will be carrying out daffodil planting, litter clearance and cutting back overhanging trees on the old quarry path that is being opened up to public access. The various projects will be highlighted at the launch of the Consultation Report event which is being held by the Barrmill Community Association in the Community Centre on Wednesday, 6th October at 7.30pm.
The group has a wildlife talk planned and the building of bird and bat boxes for putting up locally. Membership of the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers has been applied for, together with tailor-made conservation work insurance for all that attend workdays. The next BCPI group meeting, to which everyone is welcome, is on Tuesday, 12th October at 7.30pm in the Barrmill Community Centre.
